PHOTOS: Sunset over Medicine Lake

Peaking Sun over Medicine Lake 1. This set of pictures will be a set of the same or similar shots. The light is bent differently with each. They were taken a year ago from last Summer at the small park on the eastern side of Medicine Lake at about 7:00ish.
Number 2.
"And God said, LET THERE BE LIGHT! and there was light . . .(Gen.1)"

Number 3.
This one is further back in perspective.
Number 4.
"The people walking in darkness have seen a GREAT LIGHT. (Isa.9)"

Number 5.
"When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, 'I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.'(John 8)"

PHOTOS: Winter Light

Animal Tracks: French Park has a nature preserve where pedestrians can roam around. I caught this image about a year ago (give or take) and I was capture with how the sun played on the snow and the shadows.
Shadows: Taken at Brookview Park a year ago. Again, I thought the shadows were interesting in light (pun intended) of the sun.
Snow Ripples: Don't get hypnotized . . . Time of day was about dusk (5:30-6:30) in the latter half of winter, a couple years ago. The wind had been going at a good clip the night before, and this was some of what had formed.
Peaking Blacktop: I have seen many shots where the photographer aimed the camera straight down, or at an angle, capturing the ice, light and object below it interacting. This was one I captured in the parking lot of the nature preserve I mentioned.

Winter Leaves: These leaves were relentless. It was in January, the dead of winter, and they had survived a couple snowstorms. I had to take the shot. Hope you enjoy these and all the others I've posted.

PHOTOS: Birds pt 1

This was taken a few years ago, before I got my DSLR. The Oriole was flying away just when I pressed the shutter release on my point and shoot. I seriously couldn't believe the luck I got with it. Largest size I'd be confident in making is an 8x10.
I thought that I had missed my opportunity to capture this Cardinal. Once I saw the picture, it was a keeper.
Though this wasn't the Cardinal from the previous picture, it was taken the same day. There were several that were flying around and singing that day.
Chickadee basking in the sun.
Lone Goose. It was sunny day, yet where this goose was swimming, there was a lot of trees and foliage to shade a bit of the water. I also purposefully took this picture at a different angle too to capture some of the different colors in the water.
Singing Oriole. There's a pathway at French Park between a pond and a grassy area. This Oriole was sitting on a hedge that sat making up the shore of the pond. It was a loud little thing so I took it's picture!

PHOTOS: Tranquility

Tranquil waters. This was taken at French Park in Plymouth, Minnesota a couple years ago or so. The water was as smooth as glass, sky and how it reflected in the water, was very inviting in taking a picture.
Turtles sunbathing. Who doesn't like turtles? They were my favorite to try to catch growing up (when I could). This picture was taken two summers ago at Brookview Park in Golden Valley, Minnesota.

Nest. Kind of a random picture. Often I'll just go out, camera in tow, to get some exercize and see what I can see. This was just a lucky moment where the cloud cover cast enough shadow over the scene, yet light enough, to make the shot interesting. I've had some good reviews on this one.

Emerging New Life. This one was a little more intentional. This one was taken a year ago last spring, sometime in April I think. I used a polarized filter and after taking several shots, some nearer, some farther, this was the best one out of the bunch.

Gentle Rain. There's nothing more peaceful than to listen to a thunderstorm rolling in, followed by the gentle rain it delivers. I remember the story of Noah and the Arc. God said, "Never again will I destroy the earth, and all the inhabitants thereof. (Gen.9)"

Sizing and Pricing

This entry is to outline the policies surrounding the sale of my photos (work in progress).

First, if anything is not satisfactory (eg. damage to photo, tardiness of postmarking/me not sending it in a timely manner) the customer will be refunded 75% of cost.

Second, the cost of each photo will be the following...

Photos:
4x6 . . . $0.25 + shipping and handling (for 1-50)
$0.20 + shipping and handling (for 50-299)
$0.15 + shipping and handling (for 300+)

Wallet sized (2.5x3.5) comes 4 per sheet. Therefore, if one wanted 16 wallets of one, and 28 of another, you would indicate that you wanted 4(sheets) of one, and 7(sheets) of the other. Price is $1.25 per sheet.

For anything larger or for more quantities, write to me. As indicated above, there will be changes, but this is what I charge thus far for my photos on my blog.

Headshots are available too, but at an hourly rate. Write to me for pricing. In order to minimize confusion and to ensure a sense of fairness, I will need to meet with the interested person(s) once ahead of time to set up a contract rate, draw up the contract, and date/time for the shoot. Once the shoot has been completed, there will be a rough estimate for turnaround, and final payment.

another step

Ok, I think, with the help of a friend, have established how to post my pictures up here. The hang up is that there's no Album option.

First entry

Ok, so the first entry in my blog is a short one.  I have decided, to use the old cliche, hunker down and get going on that old grindstone.  There's a lot of metal to forge.  Off and on, I will be revisiting this blog to get it moving in some sort of order and substance.  Hopefully, people will be able to read and see things that are interesting, namely my photos and the stories they may tell.
